Although he has been with St. Joseph Parish for only two months, we will be sorry to see Fr. Marcin Nabozny leave us on September 24. He has been recalled by his bishop to serve on the faculty of the Catholic University of Lublin. We wish his the Lord’s blessing as he assumes this position.

Due to the shortage of priests to serve in parishes on Long Island, for the foreseeable future St. Joseph Parish will not be receiving another priest. St. Joseph’s will be staffed by Msgr. Swiader and Fr. Prasanna, assisted by Deacons Jack McKenna and Andy Ciccaroni, and our capable Pastoral Staff. We ask parishioners to be patient as we reorganize responsibilities in light of these new circumstances. We hope that eventually we will receive another associate pastor.

We are fortunate that in addition to Fr. John Gouldrick, CM, who assists for Sunday Masses, we will also have the Sunday assistance of Fr. Bill Slater, the former pastor of Notre Dame Parish, New Hyde Park. We look forward to welcoming Fr. Bill in late September.

Please renew your prayers for vocations to the priesthood.
