On Thanksgiving Day, we will be preparing and delivering complete hot dinners to homebound senior citizens. We are in need of donations of turkeys, mini loaves of bread, individual non-carbonated beverages, desserts, and cash to complete the meals. Donations may be dropped off at our home at 35 Maxwell Road, Garden City. Please call us to arrange a convenient drop-off time. Next weekend we will be conducting our monthly parish food drive to assist our neighbors in need in Hempstead and Roosevelt. Items most needed to replenish pantry shelves include cereal, macaroni & cheese, tuna, canned vegetables, rice, pasta, tomato sauce, peanut butter & jelly.Please pick up an item or two on your trip to the supermarket this week. In a special way, we will remember all those parishioners whose funeral liturgies were celebrated at St. Joseph’s during the past twelve months and there will also be an opportunity to remember those whose names we carry in our hearts. Nocturnal Adoration

Friday, October 6th, the First Friday of October, is a day of prayer for peace and for the people of our parish. Masses for First Friday are at 8:00 & 9:00 AM & 12:10 PM. Confessions will be heard on Thursday, October 5th from 4 to 5 PM. Our Nocturnal Adoration Society invites all parishioners to visit the church anytime between the hours of 9:00 PM on Friday and 8:00 AM on Saturday.   The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for adoration throughout the night, and Benediction will take place just before the 8:30 AM Mass on Saturday.   For more information contact either: Terry Tener at 747-5713 ...

Please take home a baby bottle from the doors of the church, and for the next 3 weeks, fill them with your spare change. All collected coins will be given to the Life Center of Long Island – the award-winning maternity assistance organization that has been saving babies’ lives and helping mothers for more than 30 years.
