Welcome, Fr. Joseph Scolaro! With great happiness we would like to announce that Bishop Murphy has assigned the Reverend Joseph Scolaro as an associate pastor to the Parish of St. Joseph. Fr. Scolaro was ordained this Saturday, June 14, 2014, by Bishop Murphy at St. Agnes Cathedral. Fr. Scolaro is a native Long Islander. He grew up in Bayville, a lifelong parishioner of St. Dominic Parish in Oyster Bay, where he attended elementary school. On Tuesday, March 25, the Supreme Court heard arguments regarding whether or not for-profit companies Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Woods have the right to run their businesses according to the religious convictions of their owners who object to providing products and services required by the Health and Human Services mandate.
