Thank You to Our Parishioners

Dear Parishioners, Your Dominican Sisters living here at St. Joseph are so grateful for all your expressions of sympathy at the death of our beloved Sister Ginny. She was a valued member of our congregation and a wonderful example of a generous, committed woman. We know she loved joining you in the ministry of Human Services. Sister Virginia Maguire ~ Rest in Peace

It is with great sadness we inform you that our beloved Sister Ginny entered into Eternal Life on Thursday, December 5th. Her Wake and Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Albert Chapel in the Dominican Mother House, 555 Albany Avenue, Amityville, New York 11710. The Wake hours are Sunday, December 8th and Monday, December 9th from 2-8 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 10th at 10:30 AM.  These services are open to all. The Rectory Office will be closed until 1 PM on Tuesday, December 10th so that we may gather to pray for Sister Ginny. We will be celebrating a Memorial Mass for Sister G...

Parish Giving Tree 2013

This year we are asking our Parishioners to donate Gift Cards instead of buying specific gifts. You may purchase gift cards from Walmart, Target, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, Toys R Us, and Babies R Us, just to name a few. This will enable each parent to purchase gifts for their families. Please bring the gift cards to Church and put into the donation box which will be next to the "Giving Tree" by December 15th. Thank you for your generosity!

Bishop Murphy is asking to continue our prayers at all Masses this weekend for the people of the Philippines and all those affected by typhoon Haiyan. We are also united in prayer with our brothers and sisters in the diocese who are awaiting word from their families and loved ones from the devastated areas. The Bishop has authorized a special collection to be taken at the Masses this weekend, to assist those who are suffering the effects of this natural disaster. Thank you

Mr. Hildreth is a practicing patent attorney and adjunct professor at St. John's University. He has authored a book entitled, "Patent Law, a Practitioner's Guide". All Souls Day Mass

There will be a special Mass on All Souls Day, Saturday, November 2nd at 11:00 am to remember all those who have died. Our parishioners who have had a loved one die between October 2012 and October 2013 will receive a letter of invitation since their loved ones' name will be inscribed in the Book of Remembrance and prayed for by name during the Mass.
