St. Joseph Parish Adult Faith Formation Board Presents JOSHUA A young man drifts into a small town somewhere in America. He seems like an ordinary guy, and he’s friendly and helpful. Everyone loves the beauty and innocence of a baby. As an expression of that love, the Church of Saint Joseph will start its 28th Annual Spiritual Adoption Prayer Novena. From the Annunciation, March 25th to Christmas, December 25th. Our parish invites you to "spiritually adopt" a child who is newly conceived this month, and to pray daily for that baby for the next 9 months. Not all newly conceived babies are allowed to be born. Parish Lenten Series

Instead of the usual three-day “Lenten Mission,” we would like to offer a four-day “Lenten Series” – four Tuesdays, featuring four speakers, four priests of our diocese. The presenter for each day will celebrate the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Tuesday and offer his reflection after the Mass (to accommodate those who want to attend Mass but whose schedules do not permit them to stay for the talk). The same priest will return at 7:30 p.m. in the evening and offer the same reflection as in the morning, in the context of a Scriptural reflection. “This spring, couples that have been married fifty years or more will be honored at a Mass on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Church of St. Rose of Lima in Massapequa. Mass will begin at 2:30 pm. 40 Days for Life

One hour Prayer Vigils 11 am to noon on Fridays at Planned Parenthood 540 Fulton Avenue in Hempstead. During the 40 days of Lent, St. Joseph parishioners will gather in prayer beginning March 8th and continuing on March 15th, 22nd, 29th and April 5th and 12th.
