One of the classic movies of all time, it portrays an epic struggle between good and evil on the mob-controlled docks of New York in the mid twentieth century. Forced to confront corruption and murder, Terry Malloy (Marlon Brando) has his conscience awakened by the love of a young woman (Eva Marie Saint) - in whose brother's murder he was involved - and the encouragement of a courageous Priest (Karl Malden), and ultimately finds the courage  himself to do the right thing. The winner of 8 Academy Awards in 1954, including Best Movie and Best Actor, the film was directed by Elia Kazan and also starred Lee J. Cobb and Rod Steiger, with music by Leonard Bernstein.
