New Pastoral Letter Issued about St. Philip Neri
A new pastoral letter from Bishop Barres was issued. St. Philip Neri, the Second Apostle of
Rome and the Reformer of the Eternal City was written to inform Catholics about the
example set by St. Philip Neri and points out that reflection on his life can teach each of
us about holiness and mission. “He understood is own weakness in humility,” said Bishop
Barres. “He surrendered his life to the Holy Spirit and was a great servant and instrument
of Church reform and evangelization in Rome.” The pastoral letter is available by visiting
the diocesan website: www.drvc.org.
